Scholarships and Prizes are awarded annually to recognise those candidates who have achieved outstanding marks in their WSET examinations. They are made possible by the generous support of our valued sponsors and Corporate Patrons.

Presentations are made at the Guildhall London at the WSET’s annual Awards and Graduation evening.

Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits

The Laithwaite’s Scholarships

Three travel grants of £700 to study a wine and/or spirit producing region are awarded to the candidates who achieved outstanding marks in examination and submitted the strongest essay applications for this prize. The Bunch Award

Six cases of fine wine, one from each Bunch member, are awarded to an outstanding candidate, ideally employed in Media and/or PR.

The Barry Burton Memorial Prize

A HK$10,000 grant to be used for approved further wine studies or as a travel grant to study a wine producing region, an engraved decanter and a magnum of wine from the Barry Burton collection are awarded to a candidate from Hong Kong who achieved outstanding marks in the examination and submitted the strongest essay application for this prize. The winner will also be invited to the annual dinner of the Hong Kong Wine Society, where they will give a short speech.
